Tom and Steve Remington are a couple of true "Maynahs"! Both Steven and I were born in Bethel, Maine. He and I have collaborated on many internet adventures and this is one of them.

Why? Some might ask. And the answer is simple: "How in the hell do we know!" Actually, we need to laugh at ourselves.  Over time we have just forgotten how good it is to laugh and more importantly at ourselves. Political correctness needs to be flushed down the toilet and left there. We take things way too seriously most of the time. The interesting thing is I am discovering that people are looking for an escape and they are finding it in humor. We want to help them in that quest!

I moved away from Maine about 5 years ago and it was good for me. I go back and spend a good part of the summer there and in the fall I go there and spend time with friends deer hunting. Being away for some time and coming back has helped me understand better the uniqueness of Maine. There just ain't no place else like it anywhere on earth. I hope it stays that way but you know them damned "Outta Staydahs" are moving in and buying us out. What are we going to do??

Having spent many years in the hospitality business of which I don't know why I did. I hate being hospitable - at least in the way them tourists expect you to be - and it goes against my grain. But I learned a lot about people and most of it I didn't like. It ain't all their fault you know! You see the lodging industry is so determined to make a couple dollars, they feel it is necessary to make sure the guests go away completely satisfied. I say they should just go away. And if they ain't happy they give them money - even when they act like complete asses! Where I grew up they would have been taken out behind the barn and had the $hit kicked out of them. Maine people ain't like that - at least the ones that were born and raised there. Good people, hardy folks and independent like you wouldn't believe.

Maine is very unique along with its' humor. There are some great humorists and storytellers, present and past  - Joe Perham, Tim Sample, Frank Hatch, Marshall Dodge and Robert Bryan to name only a few. I feel I should also mention Bob Marley for his antics and Maine renderings of comedy. His high energy and enthusiasm is equaled by none.

Our goal with LaughMaine.com is to provide a forum for people everywhere to come and escape what they feel they need to escape from and just laugh - laugh at themselves and others, realize how stupid we all can be and add their two cents worth for others to enjoy.
